RENO, Nev. - Boosted by the return of senior Florence De Vrye, the University of Nevada women's tennis team defeated New Mexico 4-3, in its home opener Sunday at Caughlin Club.

The Wolf Pack moved to 3-7 on the year with the hard fought win, and De Vrye went 1-0 on the day.  She teamed with Michelle Okhremchuk at No. 1 doubles, helping Nevada sweep the doubles play and earn the first point of the day.

De Vrye had not yet played in 2011, as she recovered from health issues that kept her out of action the previous few months.

"It is amazing for her to be back after all that time away and winning at the No.1 doubles position," head coach Sylvain Malroux said.

The wins in doubles play were accompanied by wins at No.1, No.3 and No. 4 singles.

"It was great to win our first home match, especially against a team like New Mexico," Malroux said.

The Lobos dropped to 7-7 on the year with the loss.
