RENO, Nev. - The University of Nevada women's tennis team will open its home season Sunday, against New Mexico at 1 p.m., at the Caughlin Club in Reno.

The Wolf Pack, 2-7 on the year, is coming off a 5-2 loss to the No. 64 Santa Clara Broncos in its last match.  Against Santa Clara, Lais Ogata won at No. 3 singles and Nevada secured the doubles point, winning two of the three matches.

New Mexico is 7-6 on the year, playing much better at the Lobo Tennis Club in Albuquerque, NM, than it has on the road.  All seven wins for the Lobos have come at home, where they have posted a 7-2 overall record.

The Lobos have dropped all four of their road contests in 2011 and is 2-2 at neutral sites.

The Pack has relied on youth to a great degree this season, starting two true freshmen and two sophomores in each of its matches. Michelle Okhremchuk, a true freshman from Doneck, Ukraine, has seen significant time at the No.1 singles position.
