LAS Vegas, Nev.  - For the second-consecutive year the University of Nevada women's basketball team has been knocked out of the WAC Tournament in the semifinal round by Louisiana Tech.  Nevada fell to the Lady Techsters Friday, 66-59 at The Orleans Arena and with the loss drops to 21-10 on the season, while LA Tech improves to 24-6.

Nevada and LA Tech battled it out all game as the largest lead of the game was just 10, built by Tech with 1:52 to play in the first half.  The score was tied three times and the lead changed twice.  With less than five minutes to play in the game, Nevada was down just two after junior Kate Kevorken rebounded a missed free throw scoring on the put back.

The teams began to exchange missed shots until LA Tech's Jasmine Bendolph hit a three pointer, to put Tech up by five.  Nevada kept its hopes alive with successful shots by senior Johnna Ward and junior Amanda Johnson, but couldn't pull together enough to get over the deficit throughout the final minutes.

For the game, Nevada shot 42.4 percent from the field with five threes and 32 rebounds.  Almost all of the statistical categories were even or close, with the Pack outscoring Tech in the paint 34-28 and an even 16-16 off turnovers, with each team committing 16 turnovers.  The one large disparity in the box score came in foul shots with LA Tech hitting 16-23, while Nevada had just five attempts, scoring on four.

Senior Tahnee Robinson again led the Pack in the scoring column tallying 23 Friday, after setting a career-high with 35 the night before.  She just missed a double-double grabbing nine boards connecting on nine shots, with one three and a perfect 4-4 from the charity stripe.  Senior Johnna Ward hit some big shots at key times, scoring 10 points with two three-pointers.  Junior Kayla Williams also scored 10 points, grabbing seven boards with two blocks and two assists.

The Wolf Pack will now await its post-season fate for the tournament announcements this week to see if it receives an at-large invitation.
