RENO, Nev. – University of Nevada junior forward Dario Hunt has been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) District 6 second team. The team is selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC, these student-athletes represent the finest basketball players across America. The 245 student-athletes, from 24 districts, are eligible for the State Farm Coaches’ Division I All-America teams, to be announced on Saturday, April 2, at 9:30 a.m. (EDT) at the Hilton Americas Hotel in Houston during the NABC Convention and NCAA® Final Four®.
On Sunday, Hunt was named to the All-WAC second team and was a repeat selection on the WAC’s defensive squad. The 6-7 forward averages 12.6 points and a WAC best 9.7 rebounds per game. He also tops the conference in blocks, averaging 1.71 per game. Hunt has posted career highs in points (390), rebounds (302) and free throws made (110).
On the year he has scored in double figures 21 times and led the team in scoring on 12 occasions which leads the Pack. Six times he has scored 20 or more points in game which includes a career-high 25 against San Francisco State.
His 14 double figure rebound games is a team high and 23 times he has led the Pack in rebounding. Hunt has posted 18 game highs in rebounds.
