SEDONA, Ariz. – The Nevada women’s golf team saw its schedule move up a day and faced and some challenging conditions but the Wolf Pack fared well in its first day of competition of the spring semester on Friday at the Red Rocks Invitational.

Nevada shot a 319 on Friday, which was supposed to be a practice day at the tournament, which is hosted by Northern Arizona. But with inclement weather on its way, the schedule was moved up and the first round was Friday with the final round on Saturday.

The Wolf Pack is in fourth place of the 18-team event. Host NAU leads the way at 304 with Western Michigan at 313 and Montana third at 315.

“We played OK today. We hung in there with some windy and chilly weather,” head coach Chad Spencer said. “I was proud of the way they finished.”

Nevada does not have a player in the top 10 but has four of its five players in the top 27. Senior Lauren Hernandez leads the way for the Pack after a 78 and she is tied for 12th.
