Final Results 
STOCKTON, Calif. - Kevin Lucas drained a 12-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole to claim the individual title and give Nevada a share of the lead at the Pacific Invitational on Wednesday.
Lucas, who entered the day with a one-stroke lead, closed with a 1-under 70 in the final round at Brookside Country Club for his first collegiate championship. He beat Oregon?State's Alex Moore by one stroke.
Nevada fell in the one-hole playoff, however, as Oregon State took the trophy. The format called for the teams to have all five golfers play the 532-yard par-5 18th hole with the top four scores counting. Oregon State was 4 under on the 18th hole and Nevada 2 under.
"Overall, it was a good week for us," second-year coach?Jacob Wilner said. "I'm excited for Kevin. He has really been playing well for most of the fall and I was happy to see him get the win and force the tie by making that putt.
Nevada senior Gavin Kwon had the low round of the day as he fired a 66 and moved up 23 spots to finish tied for ninth and record a top-10 finish. Freshman Gustavo Chuang shot 74 and tied for 18th while Brian Knoll carded a 1-under 70 in the final round and move up to a tie for 23rd. Freshman Zak Griffiths shot 74 and tied for 40th.
The win by Lucas was the first medalist honor for a Nevada golfer since Jared Becher won BYU's PING Cougar Cup in the spring of 2010. Lucas concluded the fall season with four top-10 finishes.
The tournament wraps up a strong fall season for the Wolf Pack, which finished second, fourth and second in its final three tournaments of the fall.
"We got off to a slow start to the season but overall there were a lot of positives to the way we played this fall and especially the way we finished in the last three tournaments," Wilner said.
