The University of Nevada women's basketball team suffered its first loss of the season, falling to North Dakota State 67-47 Saturday night in the Subway Classic.
With the loss, Nevada drops to 1-1 on the season, while North Dakota State improves to 1-2.
Nevada got off to a sluggish start scoring just four points in the game's first seven minutes. North Dakota State jumped out to an early lead led by Janae Burich's 17 points in the first half. The Pack had a difficult time finding an offensive rhythm, shooting 33.3 percent from the field to end the first half.
The offensive woes continued for Nevada in the second half as the team went 9-33 from the field. North Dakota State controlled the glass, outrebounding Nevada 57-38. The closest the Pack got to the Bison was 14 points at the 14 minute mark in the second half. Arielle Wideman led Nevada as the lone player in double figures with 10 points.
Nevada will face Binghamton Sunday afternoon in the Subway Classic consolation
