RENO, Nev. - The University of Nevada (2-13, 0-4 WAC) volleyball team dropped a three-set Western Athletic Conference match to New Mexico State (15-4, 4-0 WAC) on Thursday night at the Virginia Street Gym. The Aggies won by scores of 25-20, 25-22 and 25-22 to improve to 15-4 on the season and remain perfect in WAC play with a 4-0 mark. The Wolf Pack fell to 2-13 and 0-4 in conference play.

Set one was tied for the eighth time at 10-10 before NMSU scored the next two points and never trailed the rest of the set to win 25-20. Both teams had outstanding attack percentages with the Aggies hitting .476 and Nevada .357.

There were nine ties and three lead changes in the second set before NMSU held on for the 25-22 victory. With the set tied at 21-21the Aggies outscored Nevada 4-1 down the stretch to win 25-22 and take a 2-0 set advantage in the match. NMSU hit .375 in the second set and Nevada .176.

The final set of the night was also close with eight ties and seven lead changes but once again NMSU prevailed 25-22 to win the match 3-0. The Pack was within a point at 23-22 but the Aggies scored the final two points of the match. NMSU hit .162 in set three and Nevada .143.

Sophomore outside hitter Grace Anxo led Nevada with 13 kills in the match. Setter Tatiana Santiago dished out a match-high 39 assists and libero Kelly Chang tied for match-high honors with her 11 digs.

Meredith Hays and Stephanie Ziegler topped NMSU with 16 and 12 kills respectively. Setter Jennah DeVries totaled 32 assists and libero Kelsi Phillips finished with 11 digs.

Nevada hit .216 in the match and NMSU .311. The Aggies won the blocking battle 10-6. Tessa Lea'ea, Janelle Batista and Erin Garvey each had two blocks for the Pack. Michelle Kuester led NMSU with six blocks on the night.

The Pack host Louisiana Tech on Saturday afternoon at 1:30 p.m.
