BOULDER CITY, Nev. - Windy conditions kicked up at Boulder Creek Golf Course on?Tuesday and ratcheted up the scores at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown.
Nevada was 16 shots off its 291 on?Monday with a 307 in the second round on Tuesday but the Pack fell just two spots in the standings as none of the 16 teams broke par in the second round.
"We were OK through the front nine and then just had some bad holes on the back nine when the wind kicked up and didn't handle the conditions as well as I would have liked," coach Chad Spencer said.
Louise Yi led Nevada in the second round with a 74 and she moved into a tie for 44th along with teammate Jamie Yam at 149 for the tournament. Freshmen Taylor Bickell and Nikki Prichard are a shot back while Joyce Chong is tied for 82nd at 161.
UC Davis leads the team race at 567 through two rounds. The Aggies are seven strokes ahead of UC Irvine and Pepperdine. The tournament concludes Wednesday.
