LAS VEGAS - The University of Nevada men's tennis team closed out play at the ITA Regional Championships with a consolation doubles win from the team of Victor Ouvrard and Moez Echargui Saturday.
"After watching our young men this week, I am excited about the season ahead of us," head coach Erik Burton said.
The pair defeated Mads Hegelund and Mitch McDaniels of New Mexico 8-3 in the doubles consolation quarters, only to fall in the next round.
Nevada had a strong showing as a team, with Wessim Derbel reaching the quarterfinals of the main draw in singles play, as well as other Wolf Pack players advancing into the later rounds.
Ouvrard reached the round of 32 in singles play along with teammate Quentin Mege. Jordan Rozenfeld played his way into the semifinals of the consolation singles draw, joining teammates Philip Hinojosa and Nathan Reix, who also earned consolation victories throughout the week.

Nevada will close out its Fall season with a trip to the Pacific Northwest Intercollegiate November 4-6.
