LAS VEGAS - After a stellar run into the quarterfinals of the ITA Regional Championships, senior captain Wessim Derbel became the last Nevada player to be bumped from a main draw at the ITA Regional Championships Friday.

After defeating Alex Clinkenbeard 6-0, 6-4, Derbel fell to James Meredith of Boise State 6-2, 6-1.

Victor Ouvrard and Moez Echargui will continue playing in the consolation doubles draw Saturday.

For Derbel's quartefinal appearance, he will be nominated for an at large bid into the NCAA National Indoor Finals in Flushing Meadows, N.Y. later this year.

"Wessim has had an amazing run in this very tough field of players," head coach Erik Burton said. "My hats off to his never quit attitude and effort thoughout the week."

Derbel was not the only player to make a significant run in singles play, as Ouvrard made an appearance in the round of 32.
