RENO, Nev. - The University of Nevada (4-15) volleyball team swept Seattle University (4-15) in its final nonconference match of the season by scores of 29-27, 25-20 and 26-24 at the Virginia Street Gym tonight. With the victory the Wolf Pack improved to 4-15 while the Redhawks dropped to 4-15 on the season.

Trailing 24-22 in the first set sophomore outside hitter Grace Anxo came off the bench and served the next three Pack points to put Nevada on top 25-24. With the scored tied at 27-27 senior setter Tatiana Santiago served the final two points of the first set to give Nevada the two-point victory 29-27. Junior middle blocker Janelle Batista had four kills in the set. The Pack hit .303 and SU .281 in the first set.

Seattle jumped to an early 6-3 lead in the second set but Nevada tied it up at 10-10. The Pack put together a 6-1 run to break the final tie of the set and win 25-20 to take a 2-0 advantage in the match. Freshman middle blocker Tessa Lea'ea topped the Pack with five kills and hit .571 in set two. The Redhawks hit .156 and the Wolf Pack .200 in the second set.
Nevada led the final set 10-5 and 18-12 but a SU would not go away rallying to tie the score at 22, 23 and 24 all. The Pack got a kill from Lea'ea and a service ace from libero Kelly Chang to close out the match with a 26-24 victory to sweep Seattle. Lea'ea and Anxo had four kills each in the third set. The Pack hit .211 and the Redhawks .161.

Lea'ea tied for match high honors with her 12 kills on the night and hit .450. Santiago dished out a match-high 38 assists. Chang and Elissa Ji tied for match-high honors with 12 digs apiece.

Kaytlyn Dill topped SU with 12 kills. Setter Megan Augustavo had 30 assists and added 10 digs to record a double-double. Libero Allie Hoskins also had 10 digs for the Redhawks.

Nevada held a slim 8-7 advantage in blocking. Batista had five for the Pack and Alec Goodrie four for Seattle. The Wolf Pack posted a .236 attack percentage and SU .200.

The Wolf Pack returns to Western Athletic Conference play traveling to Fresno State for a 7:00 p.m. match on Saturday night with the Bulldogs.
