FRESNO, Calif. -- The University of Nevada men's tennis team earned two titles at the Bulldog Classic Sunday, as Wessim Derbel and Victor Ouvrard each won their singles draws.
They were the only two members of the Pack to compete on the tournament's final day.
Derbel defeated David Ayoun of host Fresno State 6-1, 6-0 in the finals of the main B draw, earning the Wolf Pack its first individual title of the season. Derbel entered the draw as the No. 1 overall seed.
"Wessim gained valuable matchtime," head coach Erik Burton said. "He is growing stronger every match in preperation for regionals in Las Vegas later this month."
Hours later, Ouvrard completed his run through the A draw consolation bracket with a 6-4, 6-7, 10-8 win over Daniel Sardu of Oregon.
"Victor played very solid after a tough first day and his mind set was always great throughout the weekend," Burton said.
Individuals will compete in Nevada's next scheduled competition, the ITA Regionals, October 19-23 in Las Vegas, Nev.
