Nevada senior defensive tackle Brett Roy was named to Phil Steele's Midseason All-American Third-Team on Thursday.
Roy leads the nation in tackles for loss and in his fifth in the country in sacks. He is coming off a four-TFL, one-sack performance against UNLV last week in which Nevada shut-out the Rebels, 37-0. Roy was named the WAC Player of the Week on the defensive side of the ball.
Senior wideout Rishard Matthews earned Honorable Mention on the Midseason All-America Team along with junior guard Chris Barker.
Roy, Matthews and Barker, along with senior linebacker Brandon M. Marshall, were named to the publication's Midseason All-WAC first team. Sophomore Jack Reynoso earned second-team honors while running back Mike Ball, center Jeff Meads, defensive end Kaelin Burnett and linebacker James-Michael Johnson were named to the third team.
