LAS CRUCES, N.M.  - The University of Nevada women's basketball team improved to 13-3 (2-1 WAC) with a 65-46 victory over New Mexico State Wednesday at the Pan American Center in Las Cruces, N.M.  New Mexico State lost its first WAC game of the year, dropping to 8-9 (2-1 WAC).

Nevada picked up its third straight win over the Aggies after having swept the conference rival in both games last season.  The Pack is currently working on the best record in school history, sitting as the only team in the record book to tally 13 wins in its first 16 games of the season.

Wednesday night, Nevada got off to a slow start, finding itself in a dog fight with the Aggies throughout the entire first half.  In the, there were eight ties and six lead changes between the two teams with Nevada leading 30-27 in the intermission.  The Pack shot 41.7 percent in the half, out-rebounded NM State 22-17 and shot a perfect 8-8 from the free throw line.  What hurt the Pack early on was having turned-over the ball 10 compared to just three for the Aggies.

Senior captain Tahnee Robinson had her best scoring production in five games leading all scorers with 25. The tally was the most points she had scored since the Caribbean Classic having racked up 27 against Illinois State on Dec. 20, 2010.  Against the Aggies Robinson went on a tear in the second half scoring 17 points after the intermission.  The nation's 11th best scorer, Robinson hit 9-11 from the field with two three-pointers going a perfect 5-5 from the free throw line.  She added in five rebounds one block and one steal.

Senior Nicole Williams came off the bench to score 12 points off 4-7 shooting and six rebounds.  The Pack's other senior captain, Shavon Moore tallied her 16th career double-double, fifth of the season, with 10 points and 10 boards.

As a team, Nevada shot 43.1 percent on 22-51 shooting with five threes, going 16-18 from the charity stripe (88.9 percent).  The Wolf Pack finished with 10 assists, six steals and four blocks forcing 13 turnovers, committing 19.

Nevada will next travel to Utah State to face the WAC's other Aggies on Saturday, Jan. 15 at 2 p.m.  The Pack swept Utah State last season both in Reno and in Logan, Utah.
