Nevada Hosts Second Invitational This Weekend
  
 The University of Nevada volleyball team will host its second consecutive invitational in as many weeks Friday and Saturday at the Virginia Street Gym.  The four team field that is comprised of #24 Arizona, Pacific and Northern Arizona along with the Wolf Pack will each play three matches in the two-day event.  The Wolf Pack Invitational is sponsored by Ramada and Best Western Airport Plaza.
    The Wolf Pack (4-2) open play on Friday at noon versus Northern Arizona (4-3) and close out day one versus #24 Arizona (5-1) at 7 p.m.  Arizona and Pacific get day one started at 10 a.m. and Pacific and Northern Arizona square off at 5 p.m.  Saturday Arizona and Northern Arizona play at noon followed by the Pack and Tigers at 2 p.m.

Father Daughter Night Friday vs Arizona
    Friday is Father and Daughter Night when the Wolf Pack plays Arizona at 7 p.m.  at the Virginia Street Gym.  All girls middle school and under will be admitted free with a paid admission by their father or a legal guardian.


Wolf Pack Win Nevada Invitational
 
   Nevada opened the home schedule winning the Nevada Invitational last weekend going a perfect 3-0.  The Wolf Pack started the weekend sweeping Weber State then downed Belmont 3-1 on Saturday.  In the championship the Pack rallied from a 2-1 deficit to defeat Notre Dame 3-2 to claim the title.

Three Named To Nevada Invitational All-Tournament Team
  
  Nevada placed three players on the Nevada Invitational All-Tournament team led by MVP Kylie Harrington.  Harrington, a senior outside hitter, averaged 3.33 kills, 2.08 digs and 3.75 points while hitting .261.  She posted double-doubles versus Weber State with 11 kills and 10 digs and against Notre Dame with 17 kills and 10 digs.
    Senior middle blocker Lindsay Baldwin was named to the all-tournament squad after averaging 2.33 kills, 1.17 blocks and 3.08 points with a .407 attack percentage.
    Junior setter Tatiana Santiago was also selected to the squad after dishing out 9.00 assists per set and averaging 1.25 digs per set.  
   
Team Notes: 
Nevada has won three matches in a row after winning the Nevada Invitational last weekend...the Pack will play their first ranked opponent of the season when they take on #24 Arizona on Friday night at 7 p.m...Nevada was picked to finish seventh in the Preseason Western Athletic Conference Coaches’ Poll...the Pack rank fifth in hitting (.197%), ninth in assists (10.00 aps), fourth in blocking (2.30 bps), ninth in digs (11.83 dps), eighth in opponent hitting percentage (.241%), seventh in kills (11.30 kps) and sixth in service aces (1.24 saps) in the WAC.

Player Notes: 
Senior outside hitter Kylie Harrington has led the Pack in kills in four-of-six matches this season...Harrington has two double-doubles vs. Weber State(11 k, 10 d) on Sept. 3 and vs. Notre Dame (17 k, 10 d) on Sept. 4...freshman outside hitter Grace Anxo produced a double-double in her first match vs. Utah Valley on Aug. 27 with 12 kills and 11 digs...junior setter Tatiana Santiago has the Pack’s other double-double with 22 assists and 10 digs vs. Maryland...senior middle blocker Lindsay Baldwin (8 ba), Anxo (1 bs, 7 ba) and sophomore middle blocker Janelle Batista (8 ba) all had eight blocks  in the Pack 3-2 victory over Notre Dame (Sept. 4)...Baldwin needs one block to reach 400 total blocks in her career...Baldwin hit .667 in the Pack’s 3-0 victory over Weber State (Sept. 3)...Baldwin is sixth in the WAC with a .349 attack percentage...Santiago ranks eighth averaging 8.57 assists per set in the WAC...Batista is tied for fifth in blocking averaging 1.00 per set in the WAC...Harrington is seventh in kills (3.13 kps) and eighth in points (3.52 pps) per set in the conference...Anxo is eighth in the conference averaging .30 aces per set...senior libero Nicole Link has led the Nevada in digs three times this season posting 19 dig efforts at Missouri (Aug. 28), vs. Belmont (Sept. 4) and vs. Notre Dame (Sept. 4)...Link ranks seventh in the WAC averaging 3.78 digs per set...Harrington, Baldwin, Anxo and Santiago have started all six matches this season while Link has started all six matches at libero.

Pack Players Climbing Career Lists: 
   
Three Pack players are current ranked in the top 10 in various career lists and continue to climb the charts this season while a third should crack the top 10 soon.
    Senior middle blocker Lindsay Baldwin is fifth in career points with 1,103, is third with 360 block assists and fourth with 399 total blocks.  Her .242 attack percentage is ninth on the career list.  Four more solo blocks will move her into a tie with Carla Busalacchi (1990-93) for 10th on the all-time list.
    Senior outside hitter Kylie Harrington is ranked in the Pack career top 10 in two categories.  Harrington is seventh with 1,028 points and 10th with 926 career kills.
    Another senior Nicole Link is seventh with 1,101 career digs.  The Pack’s libero is 10 digs from moving past  Carla Busalacchi (1990-93) into sixth.
    Junior setter Tatiana Santiago has 807 career assists and 105 would push her past Yolanda Jefferson’s (1989-90) 911 into 10th.
