Box Score DAVIS, Calif. - The University of Nevada (6-6) volleyball team lost 3-0 to Oregon State (7-7) in its final match of the Aggie Invitational by scores of 25-14, 25-16 and 25-19. With the loss the Wolf Pack went 0-3 in the invitational and is 6-6 on the season while the Beavers improved to 7-7 on the year.
With the first set tied at 9-9 OSU put together a 9-1 run to move in front 17-10 and went on to win 25-14. Nevada hit .121 in set one and the Beavers .286.
Set two was also tied early at 8-8 but OSU scored the next four points and never trailed the rest of the set to win 25-16 to take a 2-0 advantage in the match. The Pack hit negative .207 in set two and OSU .167
Leading 17-14 OSU's Jill Sawatzky served eight straight points to give the Beavers the 25-14 set three victory and 3-0 match win. Nevada hit .054 and the Beavers .289 in the final set.
Senior middle blocker Lindsay Baldwin led Nevada with eight kills and junior setter Tatiana Santiago posted a match-high 25 assists. Libero Nicole Link finished with a match-high 14 digs.
Camille Saxton led the Beavers with 10 kills and setter Megan McBride had 22 assists. Becky Defoe topped OSU with 11 digs.
The Pack finished with an attack percentage of zero while OSU hit .250. The Beavers totaled nine blocks compared to three for Nevada.
Nevada opens Western Athletic Conference play next week at Hawai'i on Friday evening.
