RENO, Nev. - Nevada freshman forward Devonte Elliott has been certified by the NCAA Eligibility Center and can join the Wolf Pack basketball team, Nevada head coach David Carter announced Monday afternoon.
Elliott is a 6-10, 210-pound forward out of Paramount (Calif.) High School. He averaged 10 points, nine rebounds and 4.5 blocks per game in helping Paramount to a 16-12 overall mark in 2007-08. He originally signed with Nevada in the fall of 2008.
"We are very excited that Devonte has been cleared by the NCAA Eligibility Center," Carter said. "This has been a long process for Devonte and his family, and we look forward to having him join the Wolf Pack program. Devonte is a talented, versatile player who can do a lot of things on the court and should help us immediately."
