RENO, Nev. - The University of Nevada soccer team will play eight regular-season home games in 2010 including hosting two tournaments, first-year head coach Missy Price announced today.
The schedule also features four first-time opponents (Gonzaga, Montana, University of Northern Colorado and Eastern Michigan) and a challenging road schedule including three games against West Coast Conference schools: Gonzaga, St. Mary's and San Francisco.
"Overall, we have a challenging schedule of games this fall. We feel a strong non-conference schedule will prepare us for our matches in the WAC," head coach Missy Price said. "Also, there is a good balance of home and away games as well as some new opponents we have not played before. It will be an exciting fall season for Wolf Pack soccer."
The Pack will host the University of Montana and the University of Northern Colorado in the Sliver and Blue Classic on September 3 and 5. Nevada will also host the Wolf Pack Invitational September 16 and 18 facing Idaho State and Eastern Michigan.
The 2010 WAC Tournament will be held in Ruston, La., November 4-7. Nevada is coming off one of its best seasons in program history where the team set a program record for conference wins in a season (five) and advanced to the final of the WAC Tournament for just the second time in school history.
