PHOENIX, Ariz. - The University of Nevada men's golf team finished in 10th place at the 2010 Cowboy Classic hosted University of Wyoming and held in Scottsdale at the par 70, 7,133 yard Talking Stick Golf Club April 5-6.

Nevada shot their best round Tuesday as they shot one-under 279 and after three rounds, the Wolf Pack carded 29-over 669 (284-306-279) to finish in 10th place. CSU Northridge took the win with a tournament total of one-over 841 (282-284-275), a nine-stroke advantage over second place University of San Diego (281-289-280=850). Western Carolina came in third at 14-over 854 (285-288-281) and Oklahoma (279-290-287) and Colorado (279-295-282) tied for fourth carding 16-over 865.

Senior Taylor Coffman was the top finisher for the Wolf Pack, finishing in seventh place. Coffman carded five-under 65 in round one followed by six-over 76 and one-over 71 to end at two-over 212. Senior Jared Becher tied for 44th after carding one-under 69 in Tuesday's final round for a three round total of nine-over 219 (72-78-69) while senior Ryan Hallisey made a comeback in the third round carding five-under 65 to tie for 48th at ten-over 220 (81-74-65). Junior Scott Smith came in tied for 72nd at 14-over 224 (72-78-74) and senior Chris Plappert (75-79-78=232) finished in 108th place, respectively.

Gunner Wiebe of San Diego took first individually carding seven-under 203 (67-70-66).

Up next Nevada will travel to Provo, Utah for the Cougar Classic hosted by BYU at Riverside Country Club, April 23-24, 2010.
