MESA, Ariz. – The University of Nevada women’s golf team remains in seventh place after day two of the 2010 Western Athletic Conference Championship held Monday-Wednesday, April 19-21 at the par-71, 6,146-yard Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, Ariz. 

The Wolf Pack carded 30-over 324 on Tuesday to sit in seventh place (324-324=638). San Jose State carded 18-over 302 in the second round to hold a 2-stroke lead over tournament host, Hawai'i. The Rainbow Wahine (305-303= 608) also improved by two strokes from Monday to remain in contention for the team title.  Idaho (308-303= 611) moved up one spot to third place and New Mexico State (312-302= 614) moved to fourth. Boise State (311-311= 622) and Fresno State (306-316= 622) are tied for fifth place followed by Nevada in seventh.

Sophomore Jamie Yam was the top finisher for Nevada carding six-over 77 in round two to tie for 19th with a two round total of 16-over 158 (81-77). Junior Lauren Hernandez also carded six-over 77 Tuesday and is tied for 25th with freshmen Louise Yi (82-78=160) and Eugenia Guerra (78-82=160) going into round three. Sophomore Alex Borcherts (83-85) rounded out the team in 35th, respectively.

Kayla Mortellaro (78-69=147) of Idaho carded three-under 71 in the second to take the individual lead. Idaho's Amanda Jacobs (73-75) and Fresno State's Hali Coppin (74-74) trail by one stroke, tied for second at six-over 148. 

The three-day tournament concludes on Wednesday with final-round tee times beginning at 7:30 a.m. Pacific Time.
