RENO, Nev. -  Illiwa Baldwin of Queensland, Australia, has signed a national letter of intent to study and play basketball at the University of Nevada beginning in 2010-11, Wolf Pack head coach David Carter announced Monday.

A 6-11, 260-pound center, Baldwin comes to Nevada after spending the past year at Pratt (Kan.) Community College. While at Pratt, he averaged 13.3 points, 10.7 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game while shooting 50.2 percent from the field. Baldwin earned first-team All-Jayhawk Conference honors and led the league's Western Division in rebounding. He started his collegiate career at Howard Junior College in Texas and graduated from St. Joseph's Nudgee College in Brisbane, Australia.

"We are very excited to have Illiwa join our program. He's a very skilled big man that has a presence in the middle," Carter said. "His experience and maturity will enhance our program. We look forward to having him join us next fall."
