2010 WAC Tournament Bracket
RENO, Nev. - The University of Nevada women's basketball team lost to Idaho, 69-62, at Lawlor Events Center Saturday afternoon in Nevada's final home game of the regular season.
With the loss Nevada fell to 16-14 overall and 10-6 in WAC while Idaho improved to 10-19 overall and 8-8 in the WAC.
Idaho led by seven, 13-6, after seven minutes of play in the first half. The Vandals extended its lead to 10, 20-10, with 9:06 left in the half before the Pack cut the lead to five, 28-23, on a jumper by Marissa Hammond with 2:39 to play. Idaho went into the half leading by 11, 35-24.
In the second half Nevada cut Idaho's lead to four on a three pointer by Johnna Ward, 42-38, with 16:45 left to play. The Vandals went up by seven, 54-47, with 8:59 to play before the Pack cut the lead to one, 56-55, on a jumper from Marianne Lombardi with 6:23 to play. But the Pack couldn't take the lead over the final six-plus minutes as Idaho went on to win, 69-62.
Tahnee Robinson led Nevada with a career-high 27 points and a career-high 10 boards for her first career double-double. Hammond scored 15 points for Nevada while Lombardi added eight.
Nevada shot 41.5 percent (23-of-55) from the floor while Idaho shot 40.0 percent (24-of-60).
Nevada will open WAC Tournament play as the third seed on Wednesday at 6 p.m. The Pack will take on #6 Boise State in the quarterfinal game.
