Postgame Notes: - With the 74-70 win at Wichita State Wednesday night in the first round of the National Invitation Tournament, Nevada improved to 21-12 on the season, while Wichita State ended its season 25-10.
- The loss marked Wichita State's first in 18 games at home this season after the Shockers turned in a 17-0 record at the Charles Koch Arena to start this year, while Nevada is now 5-9 on the road this year.
- Nevada won its first postseason game since turning in an overtime victory over Creighton in the first round of the 2007 NCAA Tournament.
- The Wolf Pack also improved to 3-3 all time in the NIT and has advanced to the second round of the event for the third time in its four NIT appearances.
- Sophomore Luke Babbitt led the team in scoring for the 21st time this year with 23 points on 7-of-14 shooting from the field and 9-of-9 free throw shooting. He scored 16 of his 23 in the second half, making 5-of-8 shots and all seven of his free throw attempts in the final 20 minutes. It also marked his 23rd 20-point game of the season.
- With his 23 points, Babbitt set the school single-season scoring record with 729 points, breaking the mark of 721 that Nick Fazekas scored in 2005-06. He is also 12th on the Nevada career scoring chart with 1,302 points.
- Babbitt led four Wolf Pack players in double figures for scoring. Junior Armon Johnson added 15, senior Brandon Fields had 11 and sophomore Dario Hunt chipped in with 10 on 4-of-5 shooting.
- Hunt led the team in rebounding for the seventh time this season with seven boards, while senior Joey Shaw pulled down six boards.
- Nevada shot 50.0 percent in the game (56.0 percent in the second half) and is now 13-2 on the year when shooting over 50 percent from the field. The team shot above 50 percent for the third consecutive game and the fourth time in its last five games.
- Wichita State outrebounded Nevada 36-30, marking the 11th time in the last 17 games that the Wolf Pack has been outrebounded.
- Nevada also made 17-of-18 free throw attempts in the game (.944), its second-best effort from the line this year. In the last two games, Nevada has made 33-of-36 free throws in the last two games.
- Nevada will return to action Monday, traveling to Rhode Island for the second round of the NIT. Monday's game will tip off at 6 p.m. Eastern Time (3 p.m. Pacific Time) and will be televised nationally by ESPNU. It can also be heard on ESPN Radio 630 AM with Ryan Radtke calling the action.
