No makeup date has been scheduled, but Nevada and Hawai'i officials will discuss the possibility at a later date.
The University of Hawai'i campus is closed and all events have been canceled.
The Wolf Pack team is staying at a hotel about two blocks from Waikiki Beach, which is outside the evacuation zone. The tsunami waves are expected to hit Honolulu at 11:42 a.m. Hawaii Time (1:42 p.m. Pacific Time).
Sirens sounded at 6 a.m. in Honolulu and have continued throughout the day to warn of a potential tsunami caused by the 8.8-magnitude earthquake in Chile yesterday.
Hotel officials have advised tourists to stay away from the beach and move to the upper levels of the hotel starting at 11 a.m. They also announced that businesses and roads in Waikiki will be shut down at 10 a.m.
