The University of Nevada women's basketball team suffered its second loss of the season Sunday, dropping 67-54 to Washington State in Pullman, Wash.  With the loss, Nevada drops to 6-2 on the season, while Washington State improves to 2-6.

The Pack had it tough getting the offense going from the start.  Coming off a near 60 percent shooting night on Thursday, Nevada hit just 8-28 from the field in the first half just 28.6 percent with only one three-pointer.  Washington State built its largest lead of the opening half to 13 at the 4:05 mark with Sage Romberg leading the way with seven.

At the intermission, Shavon  Moore led the Wolf Pack with six points and four rebounds while Johnna Ward and Hammond each had four.  Kayla Williams again led the Pack attacking the glass, grabbing six rebounds.  Rebounding was the saving grace for the Pack, as it held a 24-16 advantage over the Cougars.

The Wolf Pack came out swinging after halftime, using a 12-2 run to open the half and tie the game at 32 with 16:59 to play.  The Pack traded scores and possessions with the Cougars keeping the score within four points, but couldn't take the lead.  Washington State then came back with a 14-2 run to rebuild its lead to 13, 58-45 with 6:04 to play.  Nevada couldn't build another comeback from that point, as the closest it could get was nine points the rest of the way.

Moore led all scorers with 16 points going a perfect 6-6 from the line and grabbing five rebounds.  Williams took her second double-double of the season, scoring 12 and rebounding 13 with one block and two steals.  Tahnee Robinson missed the 20-point mark for the first time this season, scoring nine, but had six rebounds, one block and one steal.

As a team, Nevada shot 30.2 percent from the field connecting on 11-35 shots with two threes.  After turning the ball over 12 times in the first half, the Pack ended the game with just 17.  Nevada also out-rebounded the Cougars 42-38, but only scored 12 second-chance points.

With finals this week, Nevada will take a break in competition, not competing for almost two weeks.  The Pack will return home to host Portland State on Thursday, Dec. 16 at 7 p.m.
