The University of Nevada women's basketball team scored a 28-point victory in its first action in almost two weeks over Portland State 85-57 Thursday night.  Nevada used the win to improve to 7-2 on the year while Portland State dropped to 5-4.

Nevada scored first off a layup by Shavon Moore 20 seconds in and never looked back and never gave up the lead.  Moore ended the game with 20 points and seven rebounds, but it was fellow captain Tahnee Robinson who again led all scorers racking up 30 while grabbing eight boards.  Junior Kayla Williams also scored in double figures with 16 while Nicole Williams grabbed 12 boards.

As a team, the Wolf Pack shot 46.5 with seven threes and 12-13 from the charity stripe.  The Pack out-rebounded the Vikings 49-33 and had just 17 turnovers and 14 steals.  The Pack scored 17 second-chance points and outscored Portland State 21-6 off fast breaks and 46-16 in the paint.

Next up, Nevada will travel to the Caribbean Classic in Cancun, Mexico facing Ball State on Dec. 21 and Illinois State on Dec. 22.
