STOCKTON, Calif. – Gavin Kwon fired a 1-under 70 on Tuesday at the Stockton Sports Commission Pacific Invitational to lead the Nevada men’s golf team.
Kwon is tied for 19th along with teammate Scott Smith (+3 74 on Tuesday) entering the final day of competition on Wednesday at Brookside Country Club in Stockton.
Three of the Wolf Pack’s five players improved their scores from Monday to Tuesday but the Wolf Pack dropped a few spots into 10th place after 36 holes of the 54-hole tournament. The final round is scheduled for Wednesday.
Smith fell back after a 74 on Tuesday. Brian Knoll, also was five shots off his Monday pace and he enters the final round tied for 31st. But Kevin Lucas improved by four strokes on Tuesday with an even-par 71 and Chris Plappert was four shots better in round two.
The host Pacific Tigers are running away with the team event after T.J. Boudeaux shattered a course record with a 61 on Tuesday.
