RENO, Nev. - University of Nevada head coach Devin Scruggs has announced that Bonnie Paul has signed a national letter of intent to play for the Wolf Pack in 2011. Paul is the first signee for the volleyball class of 2011.
Paul is a 6-0 outside hitter that is completing her senior year at Liberty High School in Madera, Calif. She has earned first and second-team all-league honors during her prep career and twice was named to the All-League North Sequoia first team. Competing at the Madera South Tournament she garnered all-tournament honors. She earned athletic of the week recognition from a local radio station during her senior campaign. In 2009 and 2010 she earned scholar athlete honors and was on the principle’s honor roll four years. Additional honors include all-league underclassman of the year, most inspirational, Academic Pillar Award recipient and she was invited to attend the Congressional Leadership Conference.
“Bonnie is a phenomenal athlete and six rotation outside hitter,” Scruggs said. “At six feet, she is still growing and has the potential to be a dominating player for the Pack. She is incredibly competitive and motivated. She will be a fantastic addition to our 2011 class and I am very much looking forward to working with her.”
