STATELINE, Nev. - After two rounds of play at the Wolf Pack Classic, The University of Nevada men's golf team is in second place with a score of even par Monday. The Pack has navigated the Edgewood-Tahoe Golf Course in a total of 576 strokes.
"Today was a great day overall for the Wolf Pack," head coach Jacob Wilner said.
Powered by individual leader Alex Ching, San Diego leads the tournament with a score of 12-under 564. Ching has posted rounds of 67 and 70 for 7-under par going into the final round.
"We have to be ready to go out tomorrow morning and go low as a team," Wilner said.
Playing as an individual, Nevada's Chris Plappert is in second place, two shots behind Ching at 5-under. Bhavik Patel of Fresno State and Gunner Wiebe of San Diego are tied for third place with totals of 4-under 140.
With his strong play, Patel has helped the Bulldogs move into third place as a team.
After stormy weather threatened to delay completion of the second round, players made it in the clubhouse just before darkness set in.
The final round will begin at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, with a shotgun format in effect. Check nevadawolfpack.com for results following completion of the event.
