Box Score LAS CRUCES, N.M. - The University of Nevada (10-10, 4-3 WAC) lost in three sets at New Mexico State University (13-9, 7-1 WAC) Sunday night at the Pan American Center in Las Cruces, N.M.  The Wolf Pack had set point in the first two sets but lost by scores of 28-26 and 27-25 then dropped the final set 25-20.  The loss leaves the Pack 10-10 on the season and 4-3 in WAC play while the Aggies improved to 13-9 and 4-3 in conference play.

There were 17 ties and three lead changes in set one before NMSU escaped with the 28-26 victory. Nevada had set point a 24-23 but was unable to convert and NMSU closed out the set with a 5-2 run.  Outside hitter Kylie Harrington had five kills in the set, setter Tatiana Santiago dished out 11 assists and libero Nicole Link had seven digs.  Nevada hit just .109 while the Aggies hit .184.

For the second set in a row the Pack had set point at 24-23 but NSMU again put together a run scoring four of the final five points to win 27-25 and take a 2-0 advantage into the break.  Right side hitter Erin Garvey led the team with five kills, Santiago had 12 assists and Link four digs in the second set.  The Pack hit .128 and NMSU .179.

Nevada led set three early but with the score tied at 19-19 the Aggies used a 6-1 run to take the set 25-20 and match 3-0.  Garvey again topped the team with four digs in the set and Santiago totaled eight assists.  The Pack had their best hitting set of the match at .296 but so did NMSU with a .448 attack percentage.

Garvey and Harrington led Nevada with 11 kills each.  Santiago finished with 31 assists and Link had 11 digs.

Kayleigh Giddens and Rocio Gutierrez had 17 and 10 kills respectively for NMSU.  Setter Jennah DeVries had 36 assists and Kelsi Phillips ended the night with 12 digs.

Nevada hit .161 in the match and NMSU .248.  The Pack held an 8-5 advantage in blocking with senior middle blocker Lindsay Baldwin leading the way with four.

The two teams will play a rematch on Thursday in Reno at 7 p.m.  The Pack will then host Louisiana Tech on Saturday night at 7 p.m.
