RENO, Nev. - On Breast Cancer Awareness day at Mackay Stadium, The University of Nevada women's soccer team (6-8-2, 1-4 WAC) lost 2-1 in overtime to the Boise State Broncos (6-8-1, 3-1 WAC) Sunday.

Erica Parks scored the game winner for Boise State six minutes into the first extra frame.

The Pack fell behind 1-0 11 minutes into the match when Ashley Walsh put a loose ball in the net from 25 yards out.  Her shot beat Nevada goalkeeper Marie Cove in the upper right corner.

Nevada fought back and leveled the contest when Natalie Ratnavira connected from 18 yards out in the 38th minute.  With the match level at the half, Nevada continued to push the tempo in the second frame and overtime, outshooting the Broncos 19-16 overall.

The Pack hit three crossbars in the match, marking the second contest in which it has found iron three or more times.  Two shots that rang off posts only to be kept out of the net came within seconds of each other in the first half.

"We're a better team than we were a month or even two weeks ago," head coach Dr. Melissa Price said. "We just need to have a little more composure around the net and finish our chances."

That misfortune and timely saves by Bronco goalkeeper Liz Ruiz was enough to deny Nevada its second conference victory of the year.  Ruiz made 8 saves on the day.

Nevada will return to action Friday, October 22 against the San Jose State Spartans.  The match will be played in San Jose, Calif.

At the game, the Pack raffled off a team autographed pink jersey and donated the proceeds to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.  October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.
