PULLMAN, Wash. - Led by newcomers Eugenia Guerra and Louise Yi, the University of Nevada women's golf team leads the 14-team Washington State Inland Cup after the first round of play on Monday. Washington State University is playing host to the tournament Monday-Wednesday, Sept. 21-23 at the par 72, 6,126-yard Palouse Ridge Golf Club in Pullman

The Wolf Pack carded a 19-over 307 in Monday's first round and holds a one-stroke advantage over Sacramento State (308). Oregon State and Idaho are tied for third at 21-over 309, while Gonzaga rounds out the top five teams (312).

Guerra, a sophomore who transferred to Nevada from the University of Tulsa, led the team with a two-under 74 on Monday. She is tied for second with three other players and stands just two strokes off the lead of Idaho's Amanda Jacobs (72).

Yi, a freshman from Cinnaminson, N.J., and sophomore Jamie Yam (San Diego, Calif.) are both tied for ninth after carding five-over 77s in the first round. Junior Ana Patricia de la Maza (San Luis Potosi, Mexico) and Lauren Hernandez (Las Vegas, Nev.) are tied for 19th at seven-over 79.
