Minneapolis, Minn. – Junior Jill Erickson scored her third goal in her third consecutive game but the University of Nevada soccer team fell to Minnesota 4-1 Friday night in the Minnesota Gold Classic in front of 1,670 fans.

With the loss, Nevada fell to 2-6 while Minnesota improved to 5-2-1.

The Golden Gophers had a 2-0 lead at the half and added their third in the 50th minute before Erickson put Nevada on the board scoring off a direct free kick in the 71st minute. With the goal, Erickson is now tied for first all-time in consecutive matches with a goal with three. Minnesota added its final goal of the match in the 88th minute.

The Golden Gophers outshot the Pack 23-5 in the game including a 13-5 advantage in shots on goal. Erin Smith led Nevada with two shots. Pack keeper Dana Moreno made a career-high nine saves on the night.

Nevada will face North Dakota on Sunday at 8 a.m. PT in the Minnesota Gold Classic.
