With statewide coverage and a weekly coaches’ show broadcast live, the most anticipated season of Nevada football begins next week with exclusive coverage by the Wolf Pack Radio Network.
For the first time, the weekly Wolf Pack Coaches’ Show, featuring head coach Chris Ault, will be broadcast live from the Cantina del Lobo on the third floor of the Joe Crowley Student Union. The one-hour show airs live on ESPN Radio 630 AM, the flagship station for the Wolf Pack Sports Network. The first show will be Thursday, Sept. 3 and it airs from noon to 1 p.m.
Presented by the ASUN Bookstore and hosted by Ryan Radtke, the show will feature Coach Ault, student-athletes and other coaches representing the University of Nevada. Additionally, each week there will be a delayed broadcast at 5 p.m. on Fox Sports Radio 1450 AM and KSVL 92.3 FM in Yerington.
The Wolf Pack Radio Network, reaching 2.2 million fans through statewide coverage, broadcasts every game for football, men's basketball and baseball, as well as women's basketball and select softball games. It is managed and overseen by Wolf Pack Sports Properties, a property of Learfield Sports and Seismic Events and the multimedia rights holder for Nevada Athletics.
In addition to the Wolf Pack Coaches' Show, the Wolf Pack Radio Network features a three-minute Wolf Pack Daily Show featuring the latest news and headlines from Nevada athletics. Fans can catch this show each week day, at approximately 2:20 p.m. on ESPN Radio 630 AM and Fox Sports Radio 1450 AM. The Wolf Pack Daily Show also will be broadcast on Reno's KUUB 94.5 FM, KOZZ 105.7 FM and KDOT 104.5 FM, as well as KSVL 92.3 FM in Yerington.
The 2009 football season kicks off Saturday, Sept. 5 in South Bend, Ind., as the Pack faces Notre Dame in a historic season opener. Broadcasts for all 12 games will begin one hour prior to kickoff with the First Independent Bank pre-game show and will conclude a half-hour after each game with the Heritage Bank post-game show.
Radtke returns for his second season behind the mic for the Wolf Pack and he will call all 12 regular season games. Former Wolf Pack great and Nevada Hall of Fame quarterback Chris Vargas will serve as the color analyst for the Wolf Pack Radio Network. Games can be heard on ESPN 630 AM in Reno; Fox Sports Radio 920 AM in Las Vegas; KELK 1240 AM in Elko; KHWG 750 AM in Fallon; and KSVL 92.3 FM in Yerington.
"We're ready for football to commence, and we are thoroughly pleased with the Wolf Pack Radio Network and what we're able to deliver for fans statewide," said University of Nevada Director of Athletics Cary Groth.
