RENO, Nev. — Corbin Louks has transferred from Utah to the University of Nevada football team, head coach Chris Ault announced this morning.
Louks, a 6-foot, 200-pounder, played quarterback for the Utes and at San Ramon High School in Danville, Calif., but will be coming to Nevada as an athlete. Louks is from the same high school program that produced Pack defensive tackle
Zack Madonick.
“We are excited to have Corbin join our program and we are well aware of his athleticism,” Nevada coach Chris Ault said. “We recruited Corbin heavily out of high school and we are anxious to have him in our program.”
Nevada received the necessary paperwork from Louks Wednesday morning. Louks is en route to Reno and is expected to begin practicing with the team within a week. Louks will be able to practice with the team this season but will be unable to play in 2009 due to NCAA transfer rules. He will have two seasons of eligibility remaining, beginning with the 2010 season. Louks played in 19 games over the past two seasons for the Utes, throwing for a pair of touchdowns and rushing for four more scores in a backup role at quarterback.
