Community Service

Head Coach Jaime Frias, his coaching staff and team value giving back to the community and have participated in a number of community services events.  Below is a list of community service events the team participated in during the 2008-09 year.

 “Our goal as a soccer team is to be active participants of this community by providing and participating in activities that will enhance and impact our community in a positive way.  We want our players to be positive role models to the youth of this community and want our kids to be aware of how much of a positive impact they can have on others.”

Nevada participated in several community service events during the 2008-09 year.  Below is a list of the team's community service events:

 

* Free Clinics to community youth in Mackay Stadium during the Spring and Fall seasons. Soccer program staff and players teach skill development and play with kids.

 

* Habitat for Humanity helping build houses for the Habitat for Humanity organization.

 

* Reading books to youth in elementary schools

 

* Coaches and student-athletes volunteered their time to teach soccer skills at the Great Basin Youth Soccer League’s “Soccer Day”.
