IRVINE, Calif. Coming off a 4-3 win over No. 25 Long Beach State on Friday, the University of Nevada women’s tennis team fell 4-0 to No. 38 UC Irvine.

Due to the time of the match, three singles match-ups were unable to finish, sophomore Florence De Vrye against Brooke Bartlett in the No. 2 singles, sophomore Lais Ogata against Courtney Byron in the No. 3 spot and junior Maria Mizyuk against Clare Fermin in the No. 4 position.

In No. 1 singles, senior Caroline Bailly was downed by No. 111 Stephanie Hammel 6-3, 6-3.

The Wolf Pack (2-6, 0-1 Western Athletic Conference) couldn’t pick up the doubles point. However De Vrye and Ogata were able to defeat Fermin and Kwan 8-6 in the No. 2 position.

“It was hard to come back today after playing last night,” Nevada head coach Sylvain Malroux said. “But last night’s win over Long Beach State was the biggest win in the history of the program. I’m very proud of my team.”

The Wolf Pack concludes its weekend against No. 50 San Diego on Sunday. The match is expected to start at 10 a.m. PT.
