Game Notes:

-          With the 72-62 loss to Utah State in the WAC Tournament championship game on Saturday night, Nevada fell to 21-12 overall. The loss snapped the team’s season-long five-game winning streak.

-     The Wolf Pack is now 13-7 in WAC Tournament play (7-4 under Mark Fox) and has played in the championship game four times in nine years as a member of the WAC.

-     Nevada now awaits a possible postseason invitation. If Nevada is invited to the National Invitation Tournament or the College Basketball Invitational, it would mark the team’s seventh consecutive postseason appearance.

-          Nevada lost for just the sixth time in its last 36 home games against WAC opponents, including games in the 2006 and 2009 WAC Tournaments. The team is now 86-16 at home since the start of the 2003-04 season (13-7 this year).

-     Sophomore Armon Johnson led the team with 20 points, marking the second consecutive game and the 12th time this year that he has led the team in scoring. It was also Johnson’s 10th 20-point game of the season.

-     Nevada shot a season-low 30.6 percent from the field in the game (22-72), including just 21.1 percent in the first half (8-38).

-     The Wolf Pack also turned in a season high in free throw shooting (100 percent, 10-10), making all of its attempts from the charity stripe for the first time this season.

-          Sophomore Malik Cooke and junior Joey Shaw each added 10 points.

-     Cooke also led the team with eight rebounds, the 10th time this year that he has paced the team in rebounding.

-     Cooke also matched his career high with six of Nevada’s 11 steals in the contest and tied his career best with two blocks in the game.

-     Freshman Luke Babbitt and sophomore Armon Johnson were each named to the WAC All-Tournament team.
