About this Game
Nevada will play just its second road game of the year, after playing six of seven at home, as they travel to Tucson to take on Arizona Friday night. Arizona is the first of two, possibly three, Pac-10 teams Nevada will face this season. Nevada and Arizona have only met once before in school history during the 1994-95 season with the Wildcats posting the win.

Nevada is coming off a 101-72 win over Sacramento State on Wednesday. Shavon Moore scored a career-high 21, Holly Jones a career-high 11 while Kayla Williams added a career-high 13 rebounds in the win. Nevada's 101 points marks the most points Nevada scored since the Pack scored 104 in a win in 1986.
As a team, the Pack is shooting 39.4 percent from the floor, 33.3 from three-point range and 67.2 percent from the free throw line. About the Arizona Wildcats
Arizona is 4-1 on the year and has posted wins over Iona, Miami of Ohio, Mississippi and San Diego and lost to San Diego State. Most recently the Wildcats posted a 66-55 win at San Diego on Friday.

- After recording a career-high 18 points against Columbia, Shavon Moore set a new career high and recorded her first career 20-point game as she scored 21 points against Sacramento State.
- Freshman Holly Jones had a career-day against Sacramento State with career-highs in points (14), rebounds (eight); assists (five) and steals (five).
- Kayla Williams set a career-high in rebounds and recorded her second career game with double-digit rebounds with 13 against Sacramento State.
- Nevada's 101 points scored against Sacramento State were the most points the Pack has scored since the team scored 104 in a win in 1986.
- Since the beginning of the 2007-08 season, Nevada has recorded a 30-8 record at Lawlor Events Center.
- Each Pack player that saw minutes for Nevada against Sacramento State scored at least three points and recorded at least one rebound.
- Nevada's bench has outscored or tied its opponents bench in scoring in each of the Pack's seven games this season.
Lombardi Closing in on 100th Career Game
Senior Marianne Lombardi is one game away from her 100th career game. Lombardi has played in all seven games this year and is on track to play her 100th game at Arizona on Friday. Lombardi would become the 10th player in program history to have played in at least 100 career games and she would be tied for 10th all-time in career games played with 100.
Ward Records 100th Career Three Pointer
Junior Johnna Ward entered the game against Sacramento State with 95 career three pointers. She tied her career high and made five three pointers in the game and has 100 for her career. Ward, who has made a team-leading 15 three pointers this year in seven games, became the fifth player in program history to record at least 100 career three pointers. Nevada's career leader in three pointers made is Ashley Bastian who made 212 during her career at Nevada from 1999-03.
Nevada Improves From Beyond the Arc
After recording 14 three pointers through the first six games of the season, Nevada recorded 10 three pointers in its win against Sacramento State. Four players made at least one three pointer in the game (Johnna Ward, Nicole Williams, Holly Jones and Christina Gough) while a total of six players attempted a three pointer for the Pack.
Point Guards Record Career Highs in Last Two Games
Sophomore point guard Amanda Johnson and freshman point guard Holly Jones each recorded career highs in the last two games. Johnson recorded a career-high 11 points against West Virginia on November 28 while Jones recorded a career-high 14 against Sacramento State. Each was the first time Johnson and Jones scored in double figures in their careers and it also marked the first time for Johnson that she led the team in scoring.
Nevada Nearly Ties Single-Game Assist Mark
The Pack recorded 26 assists in its win over Sacramento State, three assists shy of tying the program record of 29 assists in a game. Against the Hornets both Jen Gross and Holly Jones recorded five assists while Nicole Williams and Amanda Johnson each recorded four.
Women's Basketball Timeout Luncheons
University of Nevada women's basketball coach Jane Albright will hold two timeout luncheons this season on January 18 and February 25 at the Nugget. Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. and the cost is $16 at the door. |
The luncheon will feature a gourmet buffet prepared by the Nugget and the program includes game recaps and previews by Albright as well as appearances by other Wolf Pack coaches and staff. The room will be announced on the day of the luncheon.

The Pack Successful at Home
Since the beginning of the 2007-08 season, Nevada has recorded a 30-8 record at Lawlor Events Center. Last season the Pack finished the year 13-4 at home while the team recorded a 12-3 record at Lawlor Events Center during the 2007-08 season. This season, Nevada is 5-1 at Lawlor Events Center.
Rebounding Advantage
Dating back to the beginning of the 2008-09 season, Nevada has outrebounded or tied its opponents in rebounding in 24 games. During the2008-09 season, Nevada outrebounded its opponents in eight straight games from January 8 through February 6, 2009.
This season Nevada has outrebounded Cal State Monterey Bay, 41-to-27, Weber State 47-to-36, Columbia 41-to-33 and Sacramento State 55-to-36. To date this season, Nevada is 4-0 in games in which the team outrebounds its opponent.
Getting to the Free Throw Line
Dating back to the start of the 2008-09 season, the Pack has taken more free throws than its opponents has attempted eight times. This season Nevada went 21-of-27 from the free throw line while Cal State Monterey Bay was 8-of-13 from the free throw line.
