Portland at Nevada

Postgame Notes:
- With the 78-69 victory over Portland on Monday night, Nevada improved to 8-5 on the year, while Portland dropped to 7-5. The Wolf Pack won its second consecutive game and for the sixth time in its last seven outings.
- The Wolf Pack also improved to 7-0 at home this year and won its 32nd game at Lawlor Events Center in its last 42 tries. The team improved to 93-17 at home since the start of the 2003-04 season (.845 winning percentage).
- Sophomore Luke Babbitt led four Wolf Pack players in double figures for scoring with 22 points. It marked the sixth time this year that he has paced the team in scoring and his sixth 20-point game of the season.
- Babbitt also added a career-best five steals in the game and had three assists.
- Senior Brandon Fields added 17 points, including three three-pointers, while junior Armon Johnson had 16. Senior Joey Shaw scored 16 points.
- Shaw paced the team in rebounding for the first time this year with eight rebounds, one shy of his career best, while Babbitt pulled down seven boards.
- Nevada outrebounded its eighth consecutive opponent, taking a 36-31 advantage against Portland. The team is now 7-3 when outrebounding its opponents.
- The Wolf Pack used a 17-0 run over the final 4:24 of the first half and the first two minutes of the second half to erase a six-point deficit and take a 42-31 lead with 18:00 to play. Portland cut the lead to five with 5:12 to play in the game, but the Wolf Pack scored the next four points and the Pilots never got closer than eight points the rest of the way.
- Nevada only turned the ball over three times in the second half and a total of 10 times in the game.
- The Wolf Pack opens Western Athletic Conference play this weekend, traveling to Louisiana Tech on Saturday, Jan. 4. The game at La Tech will tip off at 7:07 p.m. Central Time (5:07 p.m. Pacific) and will be televised locally by KAME-TV 21. It can also be heard on Nevada's radio flagship, ESPN Radio 630 AM, with Ryan Radtke calling the action.
