MALIBU, Calif. - Shavon Moore led four scorers in double-figures for Nevada but the University of Nevada women's basketball team fell at Pepperdine, 70-64, Friday night at Firestone Fieldhouse.

With the loss Nevada fell to 5-5 while Pepperdine improved to 7-4.

Pepperdine had a nine point lead, 13-4, with 14:22 left in the first half.  Nevada battled back and cut the lead to four, 20-16, on a layup by Kayla Williams with 8:36 remaining in the half. 

K. Williams helped Nevada cut the lead to one, 28-27, on a layup with 5:11 left in the half before the Waves went into half time with a four-point lead, 36-32.

K. Williams led Nevada at the half with 10 points while Tahnee Robinson, who was making her Wolf Pack debut, had seven.  Shavon Moore led the Pack at the break with six rebounds.  As a team Nevada shot 42.9 percent (12-of-28) while Pepperdine shot 37.1 percent (13-of-35).

In the second half, the Waves extended their lead to 11, 45-34, with 15:40 left in the game before Nevada went on an 13-2 run, including two three pointers from Nicole Williams, to tie the game, 47-47 with 11:00 left in the game.

Pepperdine pushed its lead back to seven, 56-49, with 8:18 left in the game before Nevada used a 9-2 run led by five points from Robinson to tie the game at 58-58 with 5:33 left in the game but Nevada could never gain the lead as the Pack fell 70-64.

Moore posted her eighth career double-double, and third of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds while Robinson scored 12, N. Williams 11 and K. Williams 10.  Amanda Johnson recorded a career-high seven rebounds. 

Nevada ended the game shooting 40.7 percent (24-of-59) from the floor while Pepperdine shot 37.5 percent (24-of-64). 

Nevada will host Washington State on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.  Fans who bring a new or gently used coat or jacket to donate will get into the game for free.
