Eastern Washington at Nevada

Postgame Notes:

- With a 73-70 victory over Eastern Washington Thursday night in the opening round of the HOOPTV Las Vegas Classic at Lawlor Events Center. The Wolf Pack has won three consecutive games and improved to 5-4 on the year, while the Eagles fell to 4-6.

- The Wolf Pack also improved to 5-0 at home this season and won for the 55th time in its last 67 games at Lawlor Events Center. Nevada is now 91-17 at home since the start of the 2003-04 season.

- Senior Brandon Fields knocked down the game-winning three-pointer with 4.3 seconds left. He finished with 17 points and eight rebounds in the game and had been 0-5 from three-point land in the contest before hitting the first game-winning shot of his Wolf Pack career.

- Sophomore Luke Babbitt led the team with a season-high 29 points, just one shy of his career best. He had 19 of his 29 points in the first half.

- Babbitt also led the team in rebounding for the seventh time this season with nine rebounds but saw his stretch of seven consecutive double-doubles come to an end.

- Junior Armon Johnson chipped in with 12 points, while tonight marked just the second time this year that Nevada has not had at least four players in double figures for scoring.

- Johnson added eight assists, the second-most for the Bob Cousy Award candidate this season. Earlier Thursday, Johnson was named a preseason candidate for the award, which is annually given to the top collegiate point guard.

- Nevada outrebounded Eastern Washington 33-29, improving to 4-2 on the year when outrebounding its opponent. It marked the fourth straight game and the sixth time in seven contests that Nevada has outrebounded its opponent. In addition to the nine boards from Babbitt and eight from Fields, sophomore Dario Hunt pulled down seven rebounds.

- Hunt blocked three shots in the game, marking the 28th time in his career that he has had more than on block and the fourth time in the last five games that he has had three. Hunt also moved into eighth on the Nevada career list with 90 blocks in 43 games, moving past Kevinn Pinkney who had 89 in 110 career games from 2001-05.

- Nevada returns to action Saturday night, ending its four-game homestand against Wagner College (1-8) in the second round of the HOOPTV Las Vegas Classic.  Saturday's game at Lawlor Events Center will tip off at 7:05 p.m. Pacific Time and can be heard on Nevada's flagship, ESPN 630 AM, with Ryan Radtke and former Wolf Pack head coach Len Stevens calling the action.
