Postgame Notes
- The Wolf Pack dropped its first game of the season, falling at UNLV 88-75 on Wednesday night at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas. Nevada is now 1-1 on the year.
- Senior Brandon Fields led four Wolf Pack players in double figures with a season-high 22 points. That marked the first time he has led the team in scoring this season after doing it seven times last year and is his seventh career game with 20 or more points.
- Senior Joey Shaw added 15 points, while sophomore Luke Babbitt and junior Armon Johnson each had 14 points. Babbitt was just 2-of-11 from the field but made all 10 of his free throw attempts.
- Babbitt pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds for his seventh career double-double. It marked the first time this season that he has paced the team in rebounding.
- Shaw also added a career-best nine rebounds in the game.
- Nevada held a 38-33 halftime advantage and led by as many as 12 points in the second half before a 24-3 UNLV run gave the Rebels the lead for good.
- The Wolf Pack shot 50 percent from three-point land, knocking down 6-of-12 long-range attempts. Shaw and Fields each made a pair of three-pointers.
- Sophomore Dario Hunt blocked a pair of shots to give him seven on the year (3.5 per game). With 74 career blocks, he moved into sole possession of ninth on the Nevada career list, moving past Sam Mosley (74 in 57 games from 1982-83).
- Nevada returns to action Saturday night, playing host to Houston at 8:05 p.m. at Lawlor Events Center. That game can be heard on Fox Sports 1450 AM with Don Marchand and former Wolf Pack head coach Len Stevens calling the action.
