Redshirt freshman running back Mike Ball has been named the Nevada Student-Athlete of the Week presented by McDonald's for the week of Sept. 28-Oct. 4.
A Las Vegas native, Ball ran for 184 yards and five touchdowns in Nevada's 63-28 win over UNLV last week. He helped the Wolf Pack set the school record for rushing yards in a game with 559 and keep the Fremont Cannon blue for the fifth consecutive season. His 89-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter was the fourth-longest rushing touchdown in the nation this season.
For his efforts, Ball was named a National Performer of the Week by the College Football Performance Awards and the WAC Offensive Player of the Week.
Nevada will announce a Student-Athlete of the Week each Monday on the official website of Nevada athletics, www.nevadawolfpack.com.
