Quarterback Colin Kaepernick has been named the Nevada Wolf Pack Athlete of the Week for the week of October 19-25.

The junior from Turlock, California (Pittman HS) ran for four touchdowns and threw for two more as Nevada beat the Idaho Vandals 70-45 at Mackay Stadium on Saturday. His 230 yards on the ground came on 15 carries and currently ranks as the tenth best rushing performance by any player in the nation this year, and most by a quarterback.

Kaepernick's four touchdown runs, from 11, 61, 35 and 75 yards, brought his season total to seven rushing touchdowns. His two touchdown passes raise his total to 11 scores through the air.

Kaepernick was also named the WAC Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season, and the sixth of his career.

Nevada will announce a Student-Athlete of the Week each Monday on the official website of Nevada athletics, www.nevadawolfpack.com.
