LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- Freshman Emma Verberne saw her run in the main draw of singles come to an end. She fell in the quarterfinals to BYU’s Kristina Doerr, the tournament’s No. 4 seed, 7-6, 6-2. Verberne dropped into the quarters of the consolation bracket.

Lais Ogata won her consolation bracket match, beating Utah’s Erin Monson in straight sets on Friday. Florence De Vrye fell in her consolation round match.

In doubles play, Verberne and Maria Mizyuk fell in the quarterfinals to top seeded McCall Jones and Megan Price of BYU, 8-3. But Ogata and DeVrye are still alive in the consolation bracket and they will play Saturday morning, as will Verberne and Mizyuk.
