Reno, Nev. - The University of Nevada(1-3) volleyball team fell in three sets to sixth ranked UCLA(4-1) in the first match of the Nevada Tournament, Friday night at the Virginia Street Gym.  The Bruins won by scores of 25-19, 25-22 and 25-18 to improve to 4-1 on the season while the Wolf Pack dropped to 1-3 on the season. 

In set one UCLA jumped out to a 10-3 lead but the Pack closed within two points at 16-14 but were Nevada able to catch the Bruins falling 25-19.  UCLA hit .216 in set one compared to .034 for the Pack.

Set two was the closest of the night and featured nine ties and five lead changes before the Bruins won 25-22.  With the set tied a 22-22 UCLA scored the final three points off Ali Daley serves to win the set and take a commanding 2-0 lead in the match.  The Bruins hit .219 and Nevada .062 in set two.

UCLA scored the first three points of set three and were never threatened as they closed out the match with the 25-18 final set win.  The Bruins again hit .219 while Nevada had their best attack percentage of the night at .156.

Senior Allison Hernandez led the Pack with a match-high 11 kills and just missed a double-double finishing with nine digs. Junior setter Sonnie Sei dished out 25 assists while libero Nicole Link posted a match-high 15 digs.

The Bruins were led by Daley and Amanda Gil who totaled eight kills each.  Setter Nellie Spicer finished the night with a match-high 31 assists.  Libero Jessica Fine topped UCLA with seven digs while Daley added six.

Nevada hit just .086 in the match while UCLA hit .218.  The Bruins also won the blocking battle 12-8.  Gil totaled eight blocks on the night, two solo and six assisted.  Kylie Harrington and Lindsay Baldwin each had four blocks for the Pack.

On Saturday UCLA takes on Seattle University at 3:00 p.m. while the Pack will take the day off.  The final match of the three team tournament is Sunday when Nevada plays SU at noon
