RENO, Nev. The University of Nevada is looking for national anthem singers for this year’s men’s and women’s basketball games and will hold tryouts on Monday, Sept. 29.
The tryouts will run from 6-7 p.m. on the court at Lawlor Events Center on the University of Nevada campus. Interested singers should call (775) 682-6961 to schedule a time.
Nevada is also looking for people with a background in music to serve as guest judges at the tryouts. Interested parties can call (775) 682-6961.
The Wolf Pack men’s and women’s basketball teams open the 2008-09 season in early November. The women’s team plays its first exhibition game on Friday, Nov. 7 against Sonoma State at Lawlor Events Center, while the men play at home the next night, taking on San Francisco State in an exhibition game on Saturday, Nov. 8, The women open the regular season on Friday, Nov. 14, playing host to Eastern Washington at 7 p.m., and the men take on Oregon State on Saturday, Nov. 22 in their home opener at Lawlor Events Center.
