Nevada has had a luxury in recent years when it came down to the tight end position. With Anthony Pudewell and Adam Bishop, the Wolf Pack rarely had a worry at that particular position.

But with Pudewell and Bishop finding their way into NFL camps over the past two years, and only Talaiasi Puloka Jr. as the only returning player with starting experience on the roster, finding some depth at the tight end spot is a priority this year. And with the coaching staff looking for depth, sophomore Virgil Green is looking for playing time.

Seems like a good fit.

Green has gone through some transitions at Nevada, first converting from a high school wide receiver to a tight end at the college level and then trying to overcome a knee injury last year.

"He's gone through some things but he is healthy now," tight ends coach Cameron Norcross said. "Virgil is a guy that we need to step up. He has the ability and now that he's healthy, he needs to develop that consistency."
